Teacher Info

Maggie Sayles - Sixth Grade  (Send e-mail)

Welcome to 6th Grade Math! We are looking forward to an exciting and fun-filled school year.

Students that are in my 1st/2nd periods or 6th/7th periods will be fortunate enough to have two teachers. These two math blocks will be co-taught with Ellen Hogan. Please feel free to reach out to both of us with any questions regarding our classroom.

For additional math practice, your student should be logging on to www.khanacademy.org as often as possible! This program is great practice for PARCC and math standards. The website provides videos for modeling and helps your student work independently. Your student should be working towards 100% at the 6th grade level by the end of the year.

Khan Academy Log-in information:
most cases username: first initial+last name (msayles).... In some cases students had to add numbers to their username in order to have a unique username. Check with your student.
Password: hcms+student ID number

The students will each have a log-in to Carnegie Learning for their online textbooks. Once set-up, all students will log in using the following information:

username: first initial of first name + last name (ex. Maggie Sayles- msayles)
password: Math2018

Did you know that the school's library is open from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.? Students should take advantage of this time to check out books, find a quiet place to read or study, or to use the computers for Khan Academy!

Please e-mail us with any questions, comments, or concerns.

Mrs. Sayles: msayles@fsd157c.org

Ms. Hogan: ehogan@fsd157c.org

PARCC test dates:

MATH April 16th, 17th, 18th
ELA April 25th

If you are aware of a planned absence during PARCC testing, please notify the main office as soon as possible in order to have make-up testing promptly scheduled.
